Our Guest Artist for the Summer is Susan Mascaro from Hampden, MA.
Susan submitted artwork for our Press it Out! contest and we all
loved her wry sense of humor. So we were very pleased when she agreed
to be a Guest Artist on the site. My personal favorite is the businessmen
produced by an eyedropper!

writes:
I live in Hampden,
MA with my husband, Peter. Our two
children are grown and we have two grandchildren.
Last summer we purchased a 1925 bungalow in a nearby
town and for the past year we have been renovating it.
We're hoping to move soon, but I am completely
overwhelmed by the thought of packing up all my art
supplies!
When my kids were small we made all the usual arts and
crafts projects. As they got older and I had more
time, I made quilts, jewelry and pottery. All through
the years I've always snipped interesting bits of
paper and hoarded little scraps of this and that. I
never quite knew what to do with all my little
treasures until I discovered collage. That led me to
rubber stamps (which has become a serious addiction).
My sister shares my passion for paper arts, but she
lives in FL and we are only able to get together
occasionally. Two years ago we began exchanging art
journals through the mail. It is so much fun and it
keeps us both inspired and making art.
I love creating collages, altered books, cards and
ATC's. I find inspiration in humor and nature, and my
work usually centers around one or the other - and
more often than not, I tend to reach for the turquoise
paint.
