For the month's of March and April we will be showcasing the work
of Eleanor Waladkewics from New Jersey. We loved Eleanor's idea
of creating a series of cards featuring one stamp. The zipper stamp
(no. 4666) provided the endless inspiration, check it out!

I always liked the challenge of a jig-saw puzzle. Maybe that is
why I enjoy putting stamps together to make a scene.
Scenic stamping has brought creativity and joy to my life. I’ve
enjoyed the past few years stamping scenes and sharing them with
friends, family who tell me they save my cards. And I also participate
in a few swaps and post to on-line groups. It’s very uplifting
to get feedback on the scenes from my on-line scene stamping friends.
I was working with a limited amount of 100 Proof Press stamps, trying
to see what would go together to make a scene. I wanted to use the
zipper stamp I purchased with one idea in mind. My idea was to have
one world unzip into another. My first thoughts were to have summer
or fall unzip to reveal winter. It seemed like I had a few possible
scenes but ended up, to my amazement, with ten!!
Colored pencils and pastels are what I usually color with. They
are very unforgiving and erasable.
I tied for 2nd place in the 100 Proof Press December 2008 contest.
What a thrill! That encouraged me to submit again. I did not place
in the next contest but was offered a spot as a guest artist. If
you ask me, that was a big win!
